The Universal Waiter is ready to take your order, do you know what you want?

Manifestation is a lot like ordering food at a restaurant. You look at the menu for a while, confident in your order you tell the waiter exactly what you want. You get specific and tell him if you want any substitutions, but you don’t tell him EXACTLY which piece of protein to put on your plate. After you order you fully trust when your order is ready it will be delivered as expected; you sit back, relax, enjoy your surroundings, and patiently anticipate this perfectly cooked meal being delivered to you. If, on the off chance, the waiter did get your order incorrect or the food wasn’t cooked all the way, you would politely explain to the waiter the issue and wait for a new, better version to be sent back to you.

You see, when we manifest what we want, we often start manifesting before we TRULY know what we want to order, we then haphazardly place our order and then do not trust the Universe/God to get it right. We anxiously wait for our manifestation to come in, almost hoping it would come out too soon. We then get something that might not even be cooked all the way, and instead of politely saying “No, thank you. This isn’t it.” We grip on tight and try to make an undercooked, unfulfilling meal fill us up. Why do we not trust God, the Universe, a Higher Power, OURSELVES to be limitless? Why do we not believe there could be MORE for us, that our desires could be wholly fulfilled?

When you order food at a restaurant, part of, if not most of the experience is anticipating this delicious meal being served to you right on time. Piping hot, well plated, smelling good. You sit there peacefully, trusting all is right in the world, and you enjoy something smooth to drink while you wait. You enjoy being taking care of. (Let that last sentence linger for a moment, there is a special kink in trusting you will be taking care of by God, the Universe, and that kink is the manifestation magnet).

While all this is true when we are sitting in a restaurant, in the proverbial restaurant of the Universe, we LOATHE the process. We place our order for all of our dreams coming true, falling in love, money, career, house etc. yet we don’t sit and savor the experience. We don’t feel the kink of trust and being taking care of. We don’t enjoy the now, the sights, sounds, smells, the people we are with. We don’t even anticipate our order is on the way. No, we constantly hound the Universal Waiter, asking if our order is ready. Like a kid, who can’t sit still, we fidget, we review the menu a gazillion more times seeing if just maybe we ordered the wrong thing. Can you imagine if you were in a restaurant and you changed your mind 50 eleven times, the waiter would have no idea what to bring you. Well, manifestation is a lot like that. When you keep checking to see if your order is ready, constantly changing the order, or accepting the wrong food, the Universe gets confused! It responds to your frequency of confusion and just starts sending whatever. You start receiving food you didn’t order, and most definitely don’t want to pay for, but you just accept it and say “put it on my tab.” I don’t know about you, but I am done paying for food, or dreams, that I didn’t order.

Often when we are in the presence of others our preferences can change. You may go to a restaurant and think you want a beet, goat cheese salad but when you get there your friend says they are getting a hot honey fried chicken sandwich and your wheels start turning…like hmm, would that be better for me?! If you haven’t really learned what foods work for your body, what your sensory preferences are etc., you may end up ordering the wrong item and being really disappointed. You might even feel stuck because you have to pay for the disappointment so you might as well eat it. Even typing that feels awful. How many times have you been told in life “that was your decision, so you better stick to it.” Now the lesson here should be to always take your time before ordering, check in with your own body (once you know her) and place the correct order to avoid disappointment. But what happens when you do receive the wrong order?

You have some folks who blame the waiter, telling the waiter they must have heard incorrectly knowing good and well they got exactly what they ordered. You also have those folks who they know they got the wrong order delivered to their table and rather than upset the wait staff, they eat the disappointment. Never feeling satisfied, they would rather be disappointed than cause the waiter to feel bad, ultimately depriving the waiter an opportunity to learn from their mistakes. There is a third option though.

If you realize in haste, you ordered the wrong thing and would need to place a second order-that is totally fine! You will still have to pay for the first meal, but it is no problem to prepare a second one for you. You can graciously apologize to the waiter and ask for what you really want. The waiter could care less and would be more than happy to prepare a second meal to ensure you leave satisfied! Now the second group who just received the incorrect order, this is your opportunity to specify the mistakes. Did you get the wrong meal, was it under or over cooked, are you allergic to onions and your meal is topped with them? What exactly is the error so the waiter can correct it to ensure you leave the restaurant full and satisfied? Your lesson is to speak up and make sure your desire for a fulfilling experience is just as important as the waiters, while the first group needed to learn accountability for rushing their order and not listening to themselves.

Learning yourself, taking time to review the menu, anticipating the correct order being delivered right on time, and being accountable for what you receive is the ultimate test in life. It’s totally fine if you don’t know yourself and you have to try a few different meals before you determine what works for you, as long as you are paying for the options, the Universe will deliver! Paying for the options includes honing in on what you liked and didn’t like so you don’t keep making the same mistake. Maybe you are a vegetarian who keeps ordering meat, if you don’t pay attention to your body you will continue to order the wrong meal for YOU! Heck, you may even be in a whole wrong restaurant and not even know it if you don’t know YOU!

Sometimes this means you must go to restaurants alone. You have to separate your preferences from what everyone else thinks you should like, or even just what they like, to see what works for you, your body type, your taste buds, your sensory aversions. People think eating alone sounds terrifying, but who is a better date than you? You can pick the restaurant, the music, the pace of the evening. Something designed entirely for you is not terrifying, it’s beautiful. It’s a dance we all should be willing to take.

As we are currently in the last quarter moon in Sagittarius, it is time to get really clear on your order with the Universal Waiter. Ensure you are ordering something that you can savor, that works with your body, and pleases all your senses. Don’t get caught in the loop of ordering too fast, ordering what is not for you, or getting complacent with whatever is delivered to the table. This is your date with yourself, and you deserve to have the experience you want. We also have the Sun (ego), Mercury (mind), Saturn (discipline), and Neptune (Spirituality) in dreamy Pisces. It is a time to believe in the delusion that you can have whatever you want, dream as big as you want, live a little messier and to believe in a Universal Waiter. A Universal Waiter who wants to bring you the correct order, piping hot, smelling fresh, and plated perfectly with YOU in mind. Let the feeling of trust and anticipation wash over you while you savor the now and thank the Chef for his perfectly timed masterpiece. God, and the Universe, love seeing you fulfilled, satisfied and craving dessert.
